Lighting Design for No. 2 Courtyard of the Sunken Plaza in the Olympic Park

The sunken square of the Olympic Park is located in the north of the Bird's Nest (National Stadium), the narrow axis between the axis of the Olympic Center and the dragon-shaped water system, and the northern end is naturally connected with the green ecological leisure garden. The square consists of seven courtyards. The red walls that have been restructured are the elements they share, reflecting the theme of the theme – the “open forbidden city”. In addition, architects and lighting designers have considerable room to play. The ancient wood flower pavilion is one of the No. 2 hospitals.

  
1. Environmental Analysis

Environmental analysis involves three aspects: the relationship between the bottom of the map, the way it is used, and the subject of use.

(1) the relationship between the bottom

On a large scale, the central axis and the road form a homogeneous and distinctive lattice structure, the water system is dark, and the sinking square is a layered intermediate brightness. The central axis lighting should be carefully controlled. The illumination level difference should be avoided too much. The dark adaptation of the human eye will affect the visual experience. At the same time, the overflow light should be avoided to “wash white” the sinking garden.

(2) How to use

The west side of the ancient wood flower pavilion is the subway equipment room, the facade is relatively closed, and the function is mainly catering and leisure. People's activities are relatively random and uncertain, so the hospital's lighting tends to organize behavior, not just service behavior.

The behavior will change with the season and time period, and different scenes should be set to adapt to it.

(3) using the main body

The users of the sinking square include the citizens and domestic and foreign tourists. Why did they come? Why stop?

At night, the ancient wood flower pavilion should be a place where vision is greater than function. Through the selective illumination of the carrier, the designer creates a unique space with a rich and rich light and shadow pattern, creating a unique appeal.

  
2. Visual perception as the starting point

Lighting design belongs to the category of visual design. Therefore, at the beginning of the design, the case has set the principle of visual perception as the starting point of design. From the outside to the inside, it is divided into three levels: visual attraction, visual recognition and visual atmosphere.

(1) Visual attraction

Analyze the way to enter from all over the city, including: subway entrances and exits—emphasizing the gable surface, along the channel interface, and the other end of the channel to guide the vertical traffic of the east and west landscape bridges—handling the relationship between the bird's eye view and the courtyard. Other courtyards pass through - the wall of the tile, the treatment of the door.

(2) Visual recognition

Possible behavior patterns in the plaza include traffic, rest, and activities, which have different visual recognition needs:

Transportation: There are small-power floodlights under the east and west passages of the courtyard, and the outer passages provide indirect lighting to illuminate the vertical plane.

Hume: Viewing, watching people, selectively matching with urban furniture and pools for people to stay;

Activities: The trees in the courtyard illuminate the trees and the water body forms the ambient light. The underside of the roof is combined with the beams to set up the overhead light to provide indirect illumination. The light color is as close as possible to the fire source 2200K.

(3) visual atmosphere

The ancient wooden flower pavilion in the open Forbidden City itself contains many elements of tradition and modernity. The former manifests itself in the pursuit of order, affinity, and poetry, while the latter is characterized by freehand space, deconstructed red walls, and geometric composition. To this end, the light and dark layout of the case fits with the spatial order: the whole shopping mall is bright, the surrounding flower wall is bright, the floor below the roof is illuminated, the roof is darkened, the traffic is weakened, the plane illumination, the shopping mall> the door> the courtyard wall> the gable> channel 〉Inside the plant water body>Red wall>Outside water body; color only yellow and white light, no color light, 2200K under the roof, 3000K for the channel, 4200 for the water body
