The Lighting Science Group (LSCG) of the United States has introduced high-performance, low-cost LED infrastructure lighting. The SAIC Americas will first serve as the sole agent for LED infrastructure products of LSCG in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces.
LSCG claims that its LED infrastructure luminaires can save energy by at least 50% compared to traditional high-pressure sodium lamps and extend their service life by 2 to 5 times. It is expected to save millions of dollars in energy and maintenance costs during the lifetime of the lamp.
Currently, the two companies are studying the feasibility of hiring qualified factories at the above locations to produce and assemble LED LSCG products for the Chinese consumer market.
SAIC Americas is one of the largest industrial companies in China and a US subsidiary of GM’s China-based franchise SAIC.
