The background of the major lighting manufacturers' power points from LED bulbs to straight tube LED lamps and LED ceiling lamps is that the lineup of LED bulbs of various companies is very rich. Manufacturers face new marketing model challenges

However, it is estimated that the competition focus of various manufacturers on straight tube type LED lamps and LED ceiling lamps will be different from those of competing LED bulbs. The LED bulb is a consumable replacement business and is used to replace the incandescent bulb installed in the lighting fixture. The sales form is also in the sales model. Moreover, its competitiveness basically depends on the price and brightness of individual products, and manufacturers are more worried.

But straight tube LED lights and LED ceiling lights are not the case. Straight tube type LED lamps are consumables used to replace straight tube type fluorescent lamps, similar to LED bulbs. However, due to different standards, lighting fixtures must be modified, so the sales model of mass merchandisers cannot be used. It is necessary to retrofit existing appliances with the components prepared by the manufacturer and then install the straight tube type LED lamps. Cooperation with construction companies is also very important. In addition, although the product has been standardized, the power supply circuit is installed at the end of the lighting fixture, and thus the performance may be changed due to incompatibility between the power supply circuit and the straight tube type LED lamp. LED ceiling lights are also not simple. This product is similar to LED bulbs in that it can be purchased and easily installed by consumers. However, the LED bulb is only a light source component, and the LED ceiling lamp is a product in which the light source component and the lighting fixture are integrated.

Designing lamps that meet LED characteristics is key

The demand for LED bulbs is that the product life cycle cost (the cost of purchasing a bulb within a certain period of time and the electricity cost required to turn on the lamp) is lower than that of an incandescent bulb, so the market is expanded, and the LED ceiling lamp is brought by the price of the lighting fixture. Heavy burdens, product life cycle costs are difficult to reduce. Moreover, it is not easy to promote the low price of LED ceiling lamps. The reason for this is that the life of the light source component LED of the LED ceiling lamp is substantially the same as that of the lighting fixture, and therefore it is not expected that the replacement component market will expand. Among the LED ceiling lamps that have been put into production by various manufacturers, many products are not premised on replacing the light source components.

For large lighting manufacturers, this means losing the market for replacement parts such as circular fluorescent lamps used in traditional ceiling lamps. From this point of view, the ease of lowering the price of LED ceiling lamps will reduce the overall market for ceiling lamps, including ceiling lamps and replacement parts. Therefore, various lighting manufacturers have expanded the LED ceiling lamp market by adding features such as thin, dimming, and color-changing functions to ceiling lamps.
