I want to talk to you about the design experience and discuss some of the problems that I think exist in the current lighting design industry.

As a lighting designer, I would like to talk to you about some of the problems in the design of landscape lighting. In the past architectural lighting design, our designers may overemphasize some principles, such as lighting practicality principles, safety, environmental protection, people-oriented principles, etc., but designers often overlook how to make lighting design reach the main body of the building. A consistent artistic design principle. Architectural and landscape lighting design can be said to be a kind of decorative lighting, and the decorative lighting is more of an art lighting, so today I am talking about the combination of architecture, lighting and art.

Architectural and landscape lighting design uses lighting to express the artistic design that matches the architecture. It is definitely not to use architecture and landscape as a window to display our products. It is possible to have such a building in every city. The designer regards the building as a stand and window to display certain products. Therefore, the result of many lighting solutions is that there is a lack of a unified lighting plan. I have seen a lot of designers. After they get the design plan, they may not see or think about it. When they see the glass curtain, they will see through the inside. They will not consider the plane structure and the three-dimensional structure of the building. I will This kind of person is likened to a worker in the assembly line.

In fact, including myself, I will make such mistakes, but as a designer, I need to make my point. At present, our country has issued national standards for lighting, whether it is decorative lighting or public lighting, it must be done in accordance with national standards. The phenomenon I just said is not aimed at a certain manufacturer or designer, but rather for the problems in our lighting field. This also gives our manufacturers more requirements. The manufacturer should not only make products, but See this trend and explore a wider market. At the same time, it also puts higher demands on our lighting designers. While improving the status of our lighting designers, we also have to take responsibility as a lighting designer.

When it comes to art design, there is a principle issue. Let me take this opportunity to remind the lighting designers here that our lighting design must have its scientific and rigorous nature. Our conceptual design is sure to achieve our pre-set effects in future implementations, a problem that exists among our lighting designers. I used to work with a Shanghai designer. In that project, the other party is doing conceptual design. We are planning and designing. The concept design of the other party is not clear to us. We only know that they are talking to the owners. When we handed over the planning plan to us, we felt that what the other party said was unrealizable. Therefore, these scientific and rigorous requirements require our designers to have an understanding of optics and to be integrated with practice.

At present, I am doing the lighting project of the Shenzhen Universiade. I am deeply touched by this. I will briefly explain the situation of this project.

The shape of the Universiade venue is a very vivid crystal, and the main structure includes steel structure, mixed wood structure and glass fiber structure. Before the design, we discussed the concept of lighting design with the architect. He only said three words of crystal. Therefore, in this project, we use white light to reflect pure white crystals, and color light to embody the exquisite body. The white crystals, as Xu Qinghui said, must pass through the surface light to make the light change from strong to weak to form another triangle, and then change again from white to dark, thus forming a crystal. The original design idea was to use white, but changed the color with the owner. In the process of performance, we use a variety of colors to interpret the purpose of the Universiade.

When it comes to the submission of technical solutions, I remember when I first entered the industry in 1993, the design plan at that time was very simple. Each plan was a checklist and a quote. It was hand-painted at the time, there was no computer, and then there was a computer. And then the text plan design. Of course, the text scheme design is getting thicker and thicker, and then there is a multimedia presentation. Now there are 3D animations. In addition to the text scheme description, we have a multimedia presentation and 3D animation roaming. In the future, the design results will be submitted to the owners in what form, and will be raised to Party A. I don’t know now, I don’t even think about it. Finally, I have another point of view. Architectural landscape lighting is more about the use of lighting to show the artistic design of the main design of the building, not just to show our products, thank you!
