According to foreign media reports, except for mobile phones and medical equipment, other personal electronic devices will be prohibited from taking flights from 13 countries to the United States. A notification issued on Twitter by Royal Jordanian local time on Monday confirmed this news (this tweet has now been deleted). The US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) also confirmed the initial declaration of Royal Jordanian Airlines, but declined to provide more detailed information.
A Saudi Arabian official provided more details of the ban in a tweet. In a response to Twitter, he said that the ban was applied at the request of the U.S. authorities and applied to airlines from 13 countries. The full list of these affected countries is not yet known.
