According to the “China's Roadmap for Phase-out of Incandescent Lamps” previously announced by the National Development and Reform Commission, starting from October 1, 2012, it is prohibited to sell incandescent lamps for general lighting of 100 watts or more. On October 1, 2014, sales of 60 watts are prohibited. Above incandescent lamps for general lighting; starting from October 1, 2016, it is prohibited to sell and import incandescent lamps for general lighting of 15 W or more.

When LED lighting products enter the millions of households become a key to the development of the industry. At present, the market price of LED lamps is several times that of traditional light sources, and high prices have become an obstacle to the popularization of LED. According to experts, the cost structure of LED bulbs basically consists of three major parts: light sources, power supplies, and lamp body components. The reporter recently learned from LED lighting company Shangyu Lighting (China) Co., Ltd. that for the current high price of LED lamps, Shangyu Lighting will launch three LED lighting products of RMB 100 for the first time in the country. Compared with similar products, the decline rate is nearly 50%.

Sun Jianning, general manager of Shangyu Lighting, told reporters that the company was able to introduce LED lighting products with price disruptiveness because it packaged its own light source and designed its own driver IC. In addition, the lamp body structure was also its own R&D. It is through effective vertical integration that the company can control the overall cost structure while ensuring quality, so that the optimal combination of light source and power source can maximize the conversion rate of the light source, and the light output rate of the product can thus be at the leading level.

In addition to Shangyu lighting, there are a number of LED lighting companies in China recently announced that they will launch low-cost LED lighting products. In view of this phenomenon, Qi Faxin stated that the domestic LED lighting market is at a node on the eve of the outbreak. There are numerous downstream LED lighting companies and the competition is fierce. At this time, companies are launching LED lighting products with subversive costs in order to achieve rapid market share. The formation of brand awareness is very important for obtaining a bigger market in the future.

In order to promote the application of domestic LED lighting products, the State Council executive meeting discussed the adoption of the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” of the National Basic Public Service System not long ago, and determined the promotion of consumer-friendly policies and measures for the promotion of energy-saving home appliances and other products, of which 2.2 billion will be allocated.
